Course: Arch 102a
This project explores the manipulation of surface to define space, delineate multiple scales and degrees of enclosure, create zones of human occupation, and produce architectural form. The first drawing describes the translation from planar to volumetric geometry. The second drawing represents an axonometric projection describing the volume and space of the tent object and an orthographic projection of the volume unfolded; the projection indicates locations of upward folding operations. After generating a symmetrical pattern of triangles, the material undergoes a series of folding operations at specific points to form openings and enclosures.
