Micro-Living

Year: 2018

Objective: To reconsider a house unit by means of organization and function in order to support the domestic roles of a home. These particular aspects inspired me to design a multi-functional space that was able to adapt to the changeability of everyday life and consequently define a series of spaces and volumes. To create a sense a flexibility and freedom, I utilized two pivot points as an origin for objects to expand and rotate around. The various volumes each serve a different function of daily life and can be used in an assortment of configurations. An integral part of the design relies on the end-user’s engagement. Both man and module actively work together to create certain configurations based on the individual’s needs. It is this symbiotic relationship that defines the object’s purpose, spatial condition, and variability.
